Facebook: The Key to Help Businesses

by Boston Tech Support on May 18, 2012

I just read a great article about the success of top brands by using Facebook Timeline. Companies like Dr. Pepper and Subway use log out ads. Log out ads are seen when someone logs off.

On Leap Day 2012, Facebook gathered all its marketing executives in New York City for a coming-out party of sorts for a slew of new ad products. To people outside the industry, the promise of new initiatives might appear a bit on the dull side. But for advertisers, anything that Facebook does for advertising is of interest.

Among the products Facebook introduced were Premium on Facebook, Reach Generator, Offers and Logged Out ads. The company also asked brands to embrace a paradigm shift from advertising to “Stories,” Facebook’s preferred term for brand-related messages. Since that time, a few big brands have experimented with the new tools.

I hope that this insert was able to reinforce. For more on what the top seven brands are doing to help their business and the affect of these Facebook techniques, click here.

New Parent Controls on a Kindle

by Boston Tech Support on May 17, 2012

I just read a great article about Kindle Fire updates. By downloading the new free version the consumer will see new parental controls, more sharing features and more ideal movie rental times. Amazon is able to tell the consumer which version they are using. Another product update was the reading view. There are many different options for the reading view now. Since a person purchased a kindle that most likely means that they aren’t going to pick up a book. The Kindle Fire has to be made where there consumers will be happy with the way they are reading from the kindle. Here is what I thought was important:

“If you are not sure what software version you’re running, tap the Quick Settings icon, tap ‘More,’ then tap ‘Device.’ If your System Version is ‘Current version: 6.3.1,’ you are running the latest software. If your System Version is ‘Current version: 6.3′ or earlier, follow the instructions below to take advantage of all of the features available for Kindle Fire.”

The new version’s software upgrades lets Kindle Fire users easily share passages from their favorite books by highlighting the text, clicking “share” and adding a note, then simply posting it to a social network. When you rent a movie on your Kindle, the rental period now begins when you watch the film, not when you download it. Also, your personal documents can be stored in the Amazon Cloud and easily accessed from stored Docs content library. Check out some other key updates added:

I hope that this insert was able to reinforce. For more on the Kindle Fire updates and the parental control features on this product, click here.
